Maple Grove Motel - Gills Rock, WI.

The Maple Grove Motel was hand-built shortly after World War II by Sam Subin, a former Coast Guard Captain. Sam passed away in 1999, at which time Annie Drastata, formerly of Chicago, purchased the property.

Even though it's not on the water, it is just off the main road in a mature maple grove. It's soothingly cool in the summer, and the sound of the wind through the leaves is quite mesmerizing...

True to Sam's original vision, the motel is still furnished with furniture from the 1950's,  now including color televisions. Each room is air conditioned however, and has electric heat, for those chilly fall evenings.
